An exercise in futility.
This music goes with it. [link]

... yeah, it was one of those days. I needed catharsis.

I completely forgot to tell you- last weekend I got to fly a plane, sort of! The Scout troop I'm in went to Coulter Field to get stuff done for the Aviation merit badge. We'd talked to some group of pilots to come out and help us get most of the requirements for the badge done, and at one point they were taking the kids who knew enough up in a little Cessna and this other homebuilt stunt plane that was tiny.
I got to go up in the homebuilt (which was tiny), and we flew around for about 30 minutes. I did get to take the controls for a bit, but it was mainly keeping the plane steady and circling back to the airport. It was awesome.
Apparently the people who came out are part of a program through which you could get a pilot's license and everything- I'm really thinking about it, but not necessarily with that group.

Btw, I'm flying in to College Station soonish... for my cross country flight O_O and once I get my license, I am going to be flying up there at least a couple times :D

That's awesome! Yeah, I saw some of the flight requirements and stuff for getting a license, and some of it's pretty cool. Cross-country? Even if it only takes a few hours, you still flew across the entire continental US.

LOL not exactly... a cross-country flight is any flight that is more than 50 nautical miles away from the airport you started at. And plus, a flight across the whole US would take more than a few hours in a plane that can only go 125 knots at cruise speed ;) (that's like... 138 mph or something)

Woah. Do you know what kind of homebuilt plane? Cool! :D See, if you were in Civil Air Patrol, they'd call that an Orientation Flight ;)
I know the A&M Flying Club is pretty awesome, they have 5 planes and quite a few instructors. It's probably the cheapest way to get your license.

Cumulus clouds are like dragons: Small ones may make good pets, but big angry ones will eat you for breakfast.

And some cute little innocent-looking dragon babies do grow and grow and grow into big monsters too...
